AI policy
Effective November 3, 2026
This policy explains how Tristar Advanced Software, LLC ("Tristar Advanced Software", "we", "us") uses Artificial Intelligence ("AI") technologies.
Our view
We believe that the responsible use of AI opens new doors and empowers seasoned engineers.
Use of AI must be well thought out and planned, and its outputs must also be thoroughly validated. It must not be used to replace professional engineering processes, but rather augment and accelerate them.
An organization still has to understand how its products work, how they will be used, who will use them, and why. At the end of the day, we are responsible for our products, and we accept that responsibility.
In our products
Our instruments contain no generative AI; the sound comes from conventional DSP.
What we do with AI
- Write documentation drafts
- Generate boilerplate code
- Write comprehensive test suites to help ensure quality
- Generate user interface design ideas and mockups
- Write initial DSP functions at the direction and design of an engineer
- Check engineer-produced code for bugs
- Maintain engineer-designed build automation
What we will never do with AI
- Ship anything we haven't reviewed, tested, and understood
- Train AI models
- Answer support tickets
- Reply to emails
